Useful information about La Bella
Established in the 1640s in Salle, the Mari family became one of the suppliers of violin strings to both Amati and Stradivari in Cremona. In 1913 Maris moved to New York while in 1920 the La Bella brand made its first ever appearance and was trademarked under E. & O. Mari Inc. In 1981 La Bella moved their factory to its current location in Newburgh, New York. Throughout the centuries, La Bella has always been the first choice for professional musicians, one of the very few companies to still produce their strings by themselves and the most unique company when it comes to quality!
While in Greece, the most famous La Bella strings were always the ones for traditional instruments (bouzouki and oud strings), in the USA and the rest of the world La Bella's strings HRS, RX, 2001, Argento and phosphor bronze own a huge share of the market.
La Bella's timeless best-seller and a set of strings we sell in 3/4 ratio comparing to the rest of this level's sets all together is Criterion C750 set of strings for classical guitar.
La Bella, a "continuously family owned business" who is for so long in the field, has a specific mindset which focuses more on the quality rather than empty marketing tricks. Nevertheless, many great musicians are La Bella endorsees, such as the absolute rock and heavy metal iconic Black Sabbath's guitarist Tony Iommi, Bryan Adams and many more.
