I'm confused about the times, Mr. Little Musician. So to change strings and jack on my JET will that take 2 - 4 business days?
Okay, it makes sense to me that you're confused since you've never visited the Zaranikas Music Store workshop before. First of all, let me inform you that 9/10 times the work is completed before the stated deadlines or those given by our technical department manager. Here follow 2 examples to help you understand exactly how the workshop works:
- Restringing (1 - 2 business days) and changing the small electrical part (1 - 2 business days) on your JET will take 1 - 2 business days.
- Replacement of pegs combined with a leather replacement in a Kanun (which takes 4 - 7 business days and 3 - 5 business days respectively for each job) will take 4 - 7 business days in total.
I hope it is clear now that the waiting time of the more time-consuming repair takes precedence and does not work cumulatively.
Finally, I would like to point out that if you wish to minimize as much as possible the waiting times, you can make an appointment at least 2 days in advance, so that your instrument can be accommodated with priority.
Mr. Little Musician, why did the technician tell me that I have to change the strings on my Alvarez? But I just wanted to change the tuning machines!
Some repairs nature, need strings to be removed during their implementation, such as changing tuning machines, for example. The recommended and correct way is for such tasks to be accompanied by the set - up procedure with restringing. Otherwise, our technician cannot guarantee that existing strings will not be damaged, nor that they can be re-installed, neither that the result of the requested repair will be the expected.
Example of the repairs that belong to this category follow:
- Replacement of nut saddle.
- Replacement of tuning machines.
- Replacement of mechanical parts that have direct contact to the strings (e.g. an electric guitar's saddles).
- Replacement of electric parts except for those that don't interfere with the strings (e.g. a guitar jack replacement).
- The lot of luthier services except for those that don't interfere with the strings.
